Olubadan Is The Pride Of Ibadanland - Omo Ajorosun

The newly crowned Olubadan of Ibadan Land, Oba senator lekan Balogun has been described as a personality with an impeccable character that will be able to restore the lost glory of Ibadan.
Speaking with the president, Omo Ojorosun Club, Alhaji Abdullahi Abiola Alli, he said the monarch will bring Ibadan to limelight and further protect the interest of the people. Excerpts: -

Q: What does Omo Ajorosun Club stand for?
A: The Omo Ajarosun Club is a Household name in Ibadan and it was founded in 1980 still waxing stronger up to today, the club was founded by four friends but all of them are now late. In the process of searching for a place of leisure where they could entertain themselves and also they could use it to contribute to the progress of Ibadan Land, they decided to found the Club.
Since that time, the Club has been growing stronger and we have been contributing tremendously to the growth and development of Ibadan Land, we have also been assisting brilliant indigenes of Ibadan through scholarship awards to brilliant indigenes  and Ibadan sons and daughters.
We are also very supportive of everything called Ibadan by making sure that we contribute resources and our intellect to the growth of Ibadan Land.
We have been doing quite a number of programs in the area of making sure that we do our corporate social responsibility for the people of Ibadan.
I cannot mention all the achievement we have done; Omo Ojorosun Club have up to three hundred members, majority of members contributes to the growth of not just Ibadan Land but Nigeria and we have so many judges in the club, professionals who are doing very well for themselves in various sectors of the economy.
We have quite a number of people who have held great positions in Nigeria; the former Secretary General of the federation is our member and that is why Omo Ajorosun Club is a foremost Social Cultural Club in Ibadan Land and all these, we are doing is because we have passion for Ibadan Land.
We don't need people to develop Ibadan for us, we need to come together as a people to build our fatherland and that we are doing by making use of all resources at our disposal to develop Ibadan.

Q: Senator Lekan Balogun is the new Olubadan of Ibadan. What do you have to say about this?
A: First and foremost, I will like to congratulate him on his coronation as the new Olubadan of Ibadan because is not easy to emerge as the Olubadan of Ibadan which involved two chieftaincy lines, the Balogun Line and the Olubadan lines and this requires some steps to be attained before you could be named as Olubadan.
You will start by becoming the head of the family and rise through the process and that is why we don't have prince and princess in Ibadan because practically, we are all prince and princess. Every compound is entitled to the throne of Olubadan of Ibadan Land.
Once anyone emerges as a Mogaji through the confirmation of Olubadan, you begin to rise through the process and that is one thing that is good in Ibadan Land; we don't need Ifa to produce the next olubadan. Once the person in front of you is promoted, you are automatically promoted to the next line of duty.
Once again, I would like to congratulate him because he spent 36 years in the process before he emerged. Even the late monarch, Oba Adetunji spent 40 years in the process before he could emerge as the Olubadan. It is not an easy task and that is why we have to celebrate him and support him in prayer for him to succeed in office.
I also want to thank our governor, his Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde for the role he played in the coronation of the new Olubadan and it shows he is a true son of Ibadan.
I want to commend and appreciate him because he has done well. In Nigeria of today, Ibadan is the most peaceful because we have ways of resolving issues.
Oba Lekan Balogun is a learned person, a PHD holder, a former senator of the federal republic of Nigeria and he is a pride to the people. We pray that his reign will open windows of opportunities for the people of Ibadan and his reign will witness transformational changes.
